In response to General Assembly resolution 66/259, the Secretary-General, in his capacity as Chair of CEB, invited the executive heads of participating organizations to facilitate the work of the Unit by accelerating their comments on the reports and recommendations of the Unit so that reports are followed up in a timely manner.
7 - واستجابةً لقرار الجمعية العامة 66/259، دعا الأمين العام، بصفته رئيساً لمجلس الرؤساء التنفيذيين المعني بالتنسيق، الرؤساء التنفيذيين للمنظمات المشاركة إلى تيسير عمل الوحدة من خلال الإسراع بإبداء تعليقاتهم على تقارير الوحدة وتوصياتها لكي تتم متابعة التقارير في أوانه.

٢٥ - وطلبت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ٥٠/٢٣٣، الى اﻷمين العام وكذلك الى الرؤساء التنفيذيين للمنظمات المشاركة الى اتخاذ التدابير اللازمة لضمان إدراج التقارير الموضوعية لوحدة التفتيش المشتركة في إطار بنود جدول اﻷعمال الملائمة المتعلقة ببرامج عملها وفوق ذلك دعت اﻷجهزة التشريعية للمنظمات المشاركة اﻷخرى الى اتخاذ إجراءات محددة بشأن توصيات الوحدة.

25. In its resolution 50/233, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General and invited the executive heads of participating organizations to take the necessary measures to ensure that the thematic reports of JIU were listed under the appropriate agenda items of their programmes of work; and, most importantly, invited the legislative organs of other participating organizations to take concrete action on the recommendations of the Unit.
٢٥ - وطلبت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها ٥٠/٢٣٣، الى اﻷمين العام وكذلك الى الرؤساء التنفيذيين للمنظمات المشاركة الى اتخاذ التدابير اللازمة لضمان إدراج التقارير الموضوعية لوحدة التفتيش المشتركة في إطار بنود جدول اﻷعمال الملائمة المتعلقة ببرامج عملها وفوق ذلك دعت اﻷجهزة التشريعية للمنظمات المشاركة اﻷخرى الى اتخاذ إجراءات محددة بشأن توصيات الوحدة.

7.3. The JIU statute (article 11) regulates the handling and processing of JIU reports and mandates the executive heads of participating organizations to ensure that (a) all relevant reports are discussed and their recommendations acted upon (acceptance or refusal) by their competent organs and that (b) the recommendations of JIU approved by their respective competent organs are implemented as expeditiously as possible.
