In this context, concern was also expressed about the proposal to eliminate these activities, taking into account the fact that the General Assembly had decided to celebrate in the year 2001 the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, and that this activity would form part of the preparation for the Conference.
