Furthermore, to ensure the participation of indigenous and local communities through the Voluntary Funding Mechanism, the fifth meeting of the Working Group on Article 8(j) in draft decision 5/4, requested the secretariat to intensify efforts to promote the General Trust Fund for Voluntary Contributions to Facilitate the Participation of Indigenous and Local Communities in the Work of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
