The Working Group noted with satisfaction the holding, in conjunction with the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee, of a symposium entitled " National space legislation: crafting legal engines for the growth of space activities " .

The Committee expressed its appreciation to Ahmad Talebzadeh (Islamic Republic of Iran) for his able leadership during the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee.
175- وأعربت اللجنة عن تقديرها لأحمد طالب زاده (جمهورية إيران الإسلامية) على ما أبداه من قيادة متمكنة خلال الدورة التاسعة والأربعين للجنة الفرعية.

Some delegations expressed the view that the topic for the symposium to be organized by the International Institute of Space Law and the European Centre for Space Law in the framework of the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee, in 2010, should relate to the issue of the definition and delimitation of outer space.
187- ورأت بعض الوفود أن موضوع الندوة التي سينظمها المعهد الدولي لقانون الفضاء والمركز الأوروبي لقانون الفضاء في إطار الدورة التاسعة والأربعين للجنة الفرعية في عام 2010 ينبغي أن تتصل بمسألة تعريف الفضاء الخارجي وتعيين حدوده.

The Committee agreed that the International Institute of Space Law and the European Centre for Space Law should be invited to hold a symposium on space law at the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee (A/AC.105/935, para. 189).

The Committee noted that expert groups A-D of the Working Group were meeting on the margins of the current session of the Committee to make progress in their work, in accordance with the terms of reference and methods of work of the Working Group, and as agreed by the Working Group at the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee (A/AC.105/1001, annex IV, para. 16 (a)).

The Working Group of the Whole recommended that consultations among interested member States, permanent observer organizations and the Office for Outer Space Affairs be held during the fifty-fourth session of the Committee, in June 2011, to consider events to be held during the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee to mark the fortieth anniversary of the launch of Landsat-1.
22- وأوصى الفريقُ العامل الجامع بأن تُعقَد أثناء دورة اللجنة الرابعة والخمسين، في حزيران/يونيه 2011، مشاوراتٌ بين الدول الأعضاء المهتمة والمنظمات التي لها صفة مراقب دائم ومكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي، للنظر في الأنشطة التي ستُنظّم أثناء الدورة التاسعة والأربعين للجنة الفرعية للاحتفال بالذكرى الأربعين لإطلاق الساتل Landsat-1.

The Committee had before it the working papers prepared for the fiftieth session of the Subcommittee by expert groups A-D of the Working Group (A/AC.105/C.1/L.324-327), which had been made available for comments by member States and permanent observers of the Committee, as recommended by the Working Group at the forty-ninth session of the Subcommittee (A/AC.105/1001, annex IV, para. 16 (i)).
174- وعُرضت على اللجنة ورقات عمل أعدَّتها لدورة اللجنة الفرعية الخمسين أفرقة الخبراء ألف-دال التابعة للفريق العامل (A/AC.105/C.1/L.324 إلى L.327)، وكانت قد أتيحت للدول الأعضاء والمراقبين الدائمين لدى اللجنة للتعليق عليها، عملاً بما أوصى به الفريق العامل في الدورة التاسعة والأربعين للجنة الفرعية (A/AC.105/1001، المرفق الرابع، الفقرة 16(ط)).
