9. Moreover, the ESCAP regional high-level intergovernmental meeting, held in September 2004 to review the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, adopted the Bangkok Communiqué which mentioned the lack of policies, legislations and programmes to protect the human rights of women migrant workers as a gap to be acknowledged in the implementation of the Platform in the Asia and Pacific region.
