A number of departments and Programmes of the United Nations, as well as agencies of the United Nations system, have complementary mandates and capacities in relation to the Convention, which have allowed them to support the interim secretariat of the Convention and the INCD negotiating process more generally.

6.5 After reviewing document A/AC.241/57 (annexed hereto), which was prepared on the issue by the interim secretariat of the Convention, the following suggestions were made:
