the Palestine question, which lay at the core of the Middle East conflict, must be dealt with to save the credibility of the United Nations and end regional instability and tension.
فلا بد إذن من معالجة القضية الفلسطينية التي تكمن في صميم النزاع في الشرق الأوسط، من أجل إنقاذ مصداقية الأمم المتحدة، وإنهاء التوتر وعدم الاستقرار في المنطقة.

That Committee's work was of particular importance in the current context of positive moves towards a settlement of the Palestine question.
