4. When establishing national preventive mechanisms, States Parties shall give due consideration to the principles relating to the status of national institutions for the promotion and protection of human rights.

(h) To ensure the independence of the National Human Rights Commission in accordance with the principles relating to the status of national institutions for the promotion and protection of human rights annexed to General Assembly resolution 48/134 of 20 December 1993;

The Human Rights Commission should be strengthened, in accordance with the principles relating to the status of national institutions (Paris Principles), annexed to Commission on Human Rights resolution 1992/54 and General Assembly resolution 48/134.

The basic requirement is that any institution should comply with the principles relating to the status of national institutions for the promotion and protection of human rights, the " Paris Principles " (General Assembly resolution 48/134, annex).

When designating or establishing such a mechanism, States Parties shall take into account the principles relating to the status and functioning of national institutions for protection and promotion of human rights.

5. Encourages the Democratic Republic of the Congo to continue to pursue the process undertaken with a view to ensuring that the National Human Rights Commission will soon become operational in accordance with the principles relating to the status of national institutions for the promotion and protection of human rights (the Paris Principles);
5- يشجع جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية على متابعة العملية لتفعيل اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان على وجه السرعة وفقاً للمبادئ المتعلِّقة بمركز المؤسسات الوطنية لتعزيز وحماية حقوق الإنسان (مبادئ باريس)؛

Latvia was one of the first countries in Eastern Europe to have done so in line with the Vienna Declaration and the principles relating to the status of national institutions for the promotion and protection of human rights, set out in the annex to General Assembly resolution 48/134.
