1. In accordance with article 22 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the specialized agencies are encouraged to submit a report on the implementation of the Convention in their fields of competence.

42. However, it was realized that, because of its limited resource base, the ECE secretariat would have to focus its substantive work on a limited number of fields of statistics in which it had some expertise and comparative advantage, and rely on countries and other international organizations to make substantive inputs in their fields of competence and experience.
٢٤ - غير أنه اتضح أنه نظرا لمحدودية قاعدة موارد أمانة اللجنة الاقتصادية ﻷوروبا، سيتعين عليها أن تركز عملها الفني على عدد محدود من الميادين الاحصائية التي لديها فيها قدر من الخبرة والميزة النسبية، وأن تعتمد على البلدان والمنظمات الدولية اﻷخرى في تقديم المدخلات الفنية في ميادين اختصاصها وخبرتها.

57. United Nations organs, as well as specialized agencies, should, within their fields of competence and in accordance with articles 22 and 23 of the Covenant, take international measures likely to contribute to the effective implementation of article 15, paragraph 1 (c).
57- ويتعين على أجهزة الأمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المتخصصة أن تتخذ، في إطار مجالات اختصاصها ووفقاً للمادتين 22 و23 من العهد، التدابير الدولية التي من شأنها المساهمة في التنفيذ الفعال لأحكام الفقرة 1(ج) من المادة 15.

The General Assembly Declaration, for its part, noted, inter alia, that regional arrangements or agencies could make important contributions to peace and security " in their fields of competence and in accordance with the Charter " .
