In 1998, it decided that it would forward to States parties whose reports were overdue, information the Committee had received from other sources, requesting a response, which, if forthcoming, would be considered as a report.5 If an overdue report does not cover the full period up to the time the Committee considers it, it may request updated information within three to six months, as an additional report.
