Specific activities relating to this aspect include assessments of the nexus between criminal justice actors and victim service providers with respect to the provision of protection and assistance trafficked persons and smuggled migrants, followed by national workshops to examine good practices in establishing a system for providing assistance and protection for trafficked persons and smuggled migrants in India and Kenya.

Major activities under the Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking (UN.GIFT) included the development of joint programmes, the awarding of grants to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and victim service providers through the small grants facility, further progress on public-private partnerships and the launch of the UN.GIFT.HUB, a virtual knowledge hub to enable stakeholders to share and access knowledge on human trafficking.

Courts can take steps to implement uniform procedures to ensure the victim's safety, including though interagency coordination mechanisms and in cooperation with victim service providers.

(e) In cases in which human trafficking is discovered in the supply chain, cooperate with victim service providers to ensure that trafficked workers receive the necessary assistance and contribute to programmes that assist victims, such as vocational training;
