وسلم بأهمية الفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة مؤكداً أن المشروعية مستمدة من الشمولية نظراً إلى أن الأمم المتحدة هي وحدها التي يمكن أن تضفي الصبغة الشرعية على الإجراءات المتخذة باسمها على المستوى الدولي.

252- دعا الوزراء إلى تكثيف عملية التشاور والتعاون بين الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات أو الترتيبات أو الوكالات الإقليمية ودون الإقليمية، وفقاً للفصل الثامن من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة وكذلك وفق ولايتها ونطاقها وتشكيلها، الأمر الذي يمكن أن يكون مفيداً وأن يسهم في صون السلم والأمن الدوليين.

Reaffirming the importance of the AU's role in the maintenance of international peace and security in accordance with Chapter VIII of the UN Charter and Constitutive Act of the AU Protocol, the importance of co-ordination between the UN and AU in pursuance of this role and of making full use of the UN and AU's complementary capacities and experience;
