The Secretary-General indicates in paragraph 16 of his report to the Security Council of 22 January 1996 (S/1996/45) that the streamlining exercise will be completed by May 1996.

44. In my report to the Security Council of 20 April 1995 (S/1995/320) I noted that the situation on the ground was volatile and that, without the requisite sense of responsibility on the part of all concerned, it could quickly deteriorate further.
