Pursuant to General Assembly resolutions 48/218 B of 29 July 1994 and 54/244 of 23 December 1999, the Secretary-General has the honour to transmit, for the attention of the General Assembly, the attached report, conveyed to him by the Under-Secretary-General for Internal Oversight Services, on the proactive investigation of the education grant entitlement.

These reports were new reports, received by the Office from other staff members who were concerned that the education grant entitlement was being subjected to a risk of fraudulent abuse and who exercised their individual rights pursuant to paragraph 18 of the Secretary-General's bulletin ST/SGB/273 of 7 September 1994.
