27. At its fifth plenary meeting, on 13 September 2000, the Meeting considered matters arising from and in the context of reports to be submitted under Article 7, including consideration of an amendment to the reporting format.

3. The general part of the report should be prepared in accordance with the consolidated guidelines for the initial part of the reports of States parties to be submitted under the various international human rights instruments, including the Covenant, as contained in document HRI/1991/1.

6. General information on the land and people, general political structure, general legal framework within which human rights are protected and information and publicity should be prepared in accordance with the consolidated guidelines for the initial part of reports of States parties to be submitted under the various international human rights instruments, as contained in document HRI/CORE/1 (see chapter I of the present document).
