As a result, the two biggest parties in Parliament, the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGC) and the Party for Social Renewal (PRS) signed a memorandum of understanding on 17 May, in which they committed themselves to supporting the end of the transition by 31 December 2013, and to the formation of an inclusive Transitional Government.
