The Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts has members who have served in the United Nations and its specialized agencies in their respective fields and are international experts from different countries of the world.

In some countries, the location of the national TCDC focal point is in some other ministry or office, such as foreign affairs, Industry and Development or finance ministries, the cabinet secretariat, the prime minister or president's office, or a science and technology commission.
وفي بعض البلدان، يقع مركز التنسيق الوطني للتعاون التقني فيما بين البلدان النامية، في وزارة أخرى أو مكتب آخر مثل وزارة الخارجية أو وزارة الصناعة والتنمية أو وزارة المالية، أو أمانة مجلس الوزراء، أو مكتب رئيس الوزراء أو مكتب الرئيس، أو لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا.

The following non-governmental organizations were represented: Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts (AFIDE), Institut Supérieur de Gestion (ISG) and Soroptimist International (SI).

Mr. Ahmed (Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts -- AFIDE) said that the global economic and financial crisis had greatly affected the industrial sector, particularly in the least developed countries.
52- السيد أحمد (رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة): قال إن الأزمة الاقتصادية والمالية العالمية قد أثرت تأثيراً جماً على قطاع الصناعة، ولا سيما في أقل البلدان نمواً.

Mr. AHMED (Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts (AFIDE)) said that AFIDE was committed to assisting developing countries and countries in transition in their development efforts.
47- السيد أحمد (رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة): قال إن الرابطة ملتزمة بمساعدة البلدان النامية والبلدان التي تمر اقتصاداتها بمرحلة انتقالية في جهودها الإنمائية.

Mr. AHMED (Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts (AFIDE)) said that, since its creation, UNIDO had played a key role in furthering the developing countries' socio-economic development as they sought to build up a sound industrial base.
71- السيد أحمد (رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة ( " أفيده " )): قال إن اليونيدو قامت، منذ إنشائها، بدور رئيسي في تعزيز التنمية الاجتماعية الاقتصادية للبلدان النامية في سعيها لبناء قاعدة صناعية سليمة.

Mr. Diallo (Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts (AFIDE)) said that, given the crucial importance of energy to development, it was surprising that the Millennium Development Goals did not include energy, particularly clean energy.
64- السيد ديالو (رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة): قال إنَّ من الغريب، نظرا للأهمية الحاسمة للطاقة في التنمية، أنَّ الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية لم تشتمل على الطاقة، ولا سيما الطاقة النظيفة.

The following non-governmental organizations were represented: Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts (AFIDE), Forum Francophone des Affaires (FFA), Institut Supérieur de Gestion (ISG), International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ICIE), International Council of Women (ICW), International Organisation of Employers (IOE), Soroptomist International (SI).
12- ومُثّلت المنظمات غير الحكومية التالية: رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة، المحفل التجاري للناطقين بالفرنسية، المعهد العالي للإدارة، المؤتمر الدولي للصناعيين ومنظمي المشاريع، المجلس النسائي الدولي، المنظمة الدولية لأرباب العمل، الرابطة الدولية لأخوات المحبة.

Ms. TCHEKNAVORIAN-ASENBAUER (Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts) said that the strategic proposals for the future of the Organization should take into account UNIDO's experience and achievements and the lessons learned.
92- السيدة تشيكنافوريان-أزينباور (رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة): قالت إن الاقتراحات الاستراتيجية المتعلقة بمستقبل المنظمة ينبغي أن تأخذ في الحسبان تجارب المنظمة وإنجازاتها ودروسها المستفادة.

Mr. Ahmed (Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts (AFIDE)) said that the economic and financial crisis had negatively affected the development of the industrial sector in most developing countries, in particular LDCs, and that had slowed the process towards meeting the Millennium Development Goals.
15- السيد أحمد (رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة): قال إن الأزمة الاقتصادية والمالية أثرت سلباً على تنمية القطاع الصناعي في معظم البلدان النامية، ولا سيما أقل البلدان نمواً، مما بطأ من وتيرة التقدم نحو تحقيق الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية.

Mr. Ahmed (Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts (AFIDE)) said that the major industrialized countries were taking collective decisions and introducing drastic measures to deal with the current financial and economic crisis, while the developing countries were not fully aware of its dimensions owing to a lack of statistics and had failed to take collective action.
53- السيد أحمد (رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة): قال إن البلدان الصناعية الكبرى تتخذ قرارات جماعية وتأخذ بتدابير صارمة للتعامل مع الأزمة المالية والاقتصادية الراهنة، بينما لا تدرك البلدان النامية أبعادها الكاملة بسبب نقص الإحصاءات ولم تتمكن من اتخاذ إجراء جماعي.

Mr. Ahmed (Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts) said that the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of UNIDO was an important occasion not only for the Organization and its present staff but also for its former staff.
50- السيد أحمد (رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة): قال إن الاحتفال بالذكرى السنوية الأربعين لإنشاء اليونيدو مناسبة هامة لا بالنسبة إلى المنظمة وموظفيها الحاليين فحسب، بل كذلك بالنسبة إلى الموظفين السابقين.

Mr. Ahmed (Association of Former United Nations Industry and Development Experts (AFIDE)) said that UNIDO's role in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, namely the promotion and support of sustainable industrial development in the developing countries with special emphasis on the least developed countries (LDCs), was crucial to alleviating poverty through employment creation and income generation.
83- السيد أحمد (رابطة خبراء الصناعة والتنمية السابقين في الأمم المتحدة): قال إنَّ دور اليونيدو في بلوغ الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية، أي في تعزيز ودعم التنمية الصناعية المستدامة في البلدان النامية مع التركيز خاصة على أقل البلدان نموا، ذو أهمية حيوية في التخفيف من وطأة الفقر من خلال إيجاد فرص العمل وإدرار الدخل.
