15. In 2006 the Institute for Security Studies undertook the following activities relating to crime prevention and criminal justice:

It accordingly endorsed the Commission's appeal to all United Nations bodies, in particular UNDP and UNDCP, to include issues relating to crime prevention and criminal justice in their activities.
وتبعا لذلك فإن الاتحاد اﻷوروبي يؤيد نداء اللجنة لجميع هيئات اﻷمم المتحدة، ولا سيما برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة اﻹنمائي وبرنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للمراقبة الدولية للمخدرات، ﻹدخال المسائل المتصلة بمنع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية في أنشطتها.

(i) The Australian Institute participated in three technical meetings during the year, relating to trafficking in human beings, the development of instruments for gathering information on United Nations standards and norms related to crime prevention and victim issues, in addition to attending the fifteenth session of the Commission on crime prevention and Criminal Justice;

35. In its resolution 56/122, the General Assembly commended the Institute for its efforts to promote and coordinate regional technical cooperation activities related to crime prevention and criminal justice.
35 - أشادت الجمعية العامة بالمعهد في قرارها 56/122 لما يبذله من جهود من أجل تعزيز وتنسيق أنشطة التعاون التقني الإقليمية المتصلة بمنع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية.

6. Expresses the hope that the Ninth Congress will make a major contribution to the solution of problems related to crime prevention and criminal justice;
٦ - تعرب عن اﻷمل في أن يقدم المؤتمر التاسع إسهاما كبيرا في حل المشاكل المتصلة بمنع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية؛

It also ensures that matters related to crime prevention and criminal justice are incorporated into the planning and implementation of United Nations peace-keeping and peace-building operations.

56. The Institute will also act as a focal point in the region for all issues related to crime prevention and criminal justice.

17. In 2006, the International Scientific and Professional Advisory Council continued its activities related to crime prevention and criminal justice, in close cooperation with UNODC.

35. The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean expressed its support for the organization of the regional preparatory meeting for the Eleventh Congress in Santiago and for any other activities related to crime prevention.
35- أعربت اللجنة الاقتصادية لأمريكا اللاتينية والكاريبي عن تأييدها لتنظيم الاجتماع التحضيري الاقليمي للمؤتمر الحادي عشر في سانتياغو وللأنشطة الأخرى المتصلة بمنع الجريمة.

At the same session, the General Assembly requested UNODC to continue providing advisory services and technical assistance to Member States, upon request, to support the implementation of United Nations standards and norms relating to crime prevention and to child rights in the administration of criminal justice.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime collects information on international standards relating to crime prevention and criminal justice and continuously explores new ways to maximize the effectiveness of technical assistance, particularly in the reconstruction of justice institutions in peacekeeping and post-conflict situations.
42- ويجمع مكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدرات والجريمة معلومات عن المعايير الدولية المتصلة بمنع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية، ويستكشف باستمرار سبلا جديدة لتحقيق الحد الأقصى من فعالية المساعدة التقنية؛ خصوصا في إعادة بناء المؤسسات القضائية في حالات حفظ السلام وأوضاع ما بعد النـزاعات.

The Institute is continuing to update its digital information centre with records of important meetings, writings and advice of experts, and reports on conferences and visits, all of which highlight and advance issues relating to crime prevention and criminal justice administration.
41- وما فتئ المعهد يعمل على تحديث مركز المعلومات الرقمية لديه بإضافة محاضر الاجتماعات الهامة وكتابات ومشورات الخبراء والتقارير عن المؤتمرات والزيارات، وكلها تسلط الضوء على المسائل المتصلة بمنع الجريمة وإدارة العدالة الجنائية وتتطرق إليها.

(a) Enhancement of national capacity for implementing the conventions on drug control, transnational organized crime, corruption and terrorism and of the United Nations standards and norms on crime prevention and criminal justice
(أ) تعزيز القدرة الوطنية على تنفيذ الاتفاقيات المتعلقة بمكافحة المخدرات والجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية والفساد والإرهاب، والتقيد بمقاييس الأمم المتحدة ومعاييرها المتصلة بمنع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية
