I write with reference to the thirty-fourth report of the Secretary-General pursuant to paragraph 14 of resolution 1284 (1999) (S/2012/931) on the issues of missing Kuwaiti and third-country nationals and missing Kuwaiti property, including the national archives, and, in particular, to the mandate of the High-level Coordinator pursuant to paragraph 14 of resolution 1284 (1999).
بالإشارة إلى تقرير معالي الأمين العام الرابع والثلاثين المقدم بموجب الفقرة 14 من القرار 1284 (1999) (S/2012/931) حول مسألة المفقودين من الكويتيين ومن رعايا البلدان الثالثة ومسـألة ممتلكات الكويت المفقودة بما في ذلك المحفوظات الوطنية، سيما موضوع ولاية المنسق رفيع المستوى المكلف بموجب الفقرة 14 من القرار 1284 (1999).

9. At his meetings with both Iraqi and Kuwait interlocutors, my Deputy Special Representative stressed that the use of science and technology and other innovative but cost-effective methods could be helpful in the search for the missing Kuwaiti and third-country nationals.
9 - وأكد نائب ممثلي الخاص في الاجتماعات التي عقدها مع كل من المتحاورين العراقيين والكويتيين على أن استخدام العلم والتكنولوجيا، والطرائق الابتكارية الأخرى والفعالة من حيث التكلفة يمكن أن يساعد في البحث عن المفقودين من الكويتيين ومن رعايا البلدان الثالثة.

In his statement to the press, on behalf of the Council members, the President expressed concern at the plight of the missing Kuwaiti and third country nationals and their families and hoped that the issue would be dealt with as a strictly humanitarian one by all sides; stressed the importance of dialogue among all parties; and urged Iraq to fully cooperate with the High-level Coordinator (see below).

(f) That, in an effort to resolve the cases of missing Kuwaitis and third-country nationals, the Government of Iraq cooperate with international humanitarian organizations, such as ICRC, facilitate their work and repatriate to their countries of origin all missing persons or their remains, as the case may be;
