43- وتنص الفقرة 3 من المادة 24 من الاتفاقية على أن يقوم مؤتمر الأطراف بإنشاء أفرقة خبراء مخصصة، حسب الضرورة، من أجل تزويده، من خلال لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا، بالمعلومات والمشورة بشأن قضايا محددة تتعلق بأحدث التطورات في ميادين العلم والتكنولوجيا ذات الصلة بمكافحة التصحر والتخفيف من آثار الجفاف.

28. Under the provisions of article 24, paragraph 3, of the Convention, the COP may, as necessary, appoint ad hoc panels to provide it, through the CST, with information and advice on specific issues regarding the state of the art in relevant fields of science and technology.
