It is high time that Member States concentrated their efforts on implementing United Nations resolutions on the Golan and unconditionally restored it to Syria. The Israeli occupying forces must be made to withdraw from the Sheba'a farmlands and to restore that area to Lebanon, and must be made to compensate both Syria and Lebanon for damage caused by the occupation.
لقد حان الوقت كي يوحد أعضاء الأمم المتحدة جهودهم لتنفيذ قرارات الأمم المتحدة الخاصة بالجولان وإعادته إلى سورية دون أي شروط، وإلزام قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بالانسحاب من مزارع شبعا وإعادتها إلى لبنان، وتعويض سوريا ولبنان على ما لحق بهما من أضرار بسبب الاحتلال.

وقال السيد نيتنياهو " إننا سوف نعمل على تعزيز المستوطنات، وسنعجل بإنشاء الطرق، ونستثمر في الهياكل اﻷساسية بالجولان حتى نخلق بيئة مواتية لممارسي اﻷعمال الحرة لكي يستثمروا هناك " .

At the conclusion of the meeting, the head of the Golan Local Council stated that for the first time in a long period he felt reassured regarding the future of the Golan and was not fearful that the Government would uproot settlements in the region. (Ha'aretz, 9 July)

١ - إدانة المحاولات الرامية إلى تكريس احتلال الجولان السوري، واعتبار هذه المحاولات تحديا ﻹرادة المجتمع الدولي، وقرارات الشرعية الدولية، وخصوصا قرار مجلس اﻷمن رقم ٧٩٤ لعام ١٨٩١، الذي اعتبر اﻹجراءات اﻹسرائيلية المتعلقة بالجولان باطلة ولاغية.

After the vote, Mr. Rabin dismissed the bill as " stupid " and indicated that it was an attempt to handcuff the Government's negotiations with the Syrian Arab Republic. the Golan bill was introduced by members of Mr. Rabin's own Labour Party. (Ha'aretz, Jerusalem Post, 27 July)

وتوصي وزارة الداخلية اﻹسرائيلية في تقريرها بتاريخ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨ بتوسيع الاستيطان كجزء من جهد وطني للتشجيع على توسيع قرى الاستيطان)٩١( وخلال اﻷشهر الثمانية اﻷولى من عام ١٩٩٨، انتقلت ٨٤ عائلة إسرائيلية لتعيش في مستوطنات بالجولان.

The second resolution deals with the occupied Syrian Golan and confirms the will and determination of the international community to put an end to the Israeli occupation of Syrian territory and to get Israel to withdraw fully from the Golan Heights to the borders of 4 June 1967.
أما القرار الثاني، فيتعلق بالجولان السوري المحتل، ويأتي تأكيدا لإرادة المجتمع الدولي وتعبيرا عن تصميمه على إنهاء احتلال إسرائيل للأراضي السورية بالانسحاب الإسرائيلي الكامل من هضبة الجولان حتى حدود حزيران/يونيه 1967.
