At 1100 hours the tender Al-Bay`ah, while in the Qasabah area on its way back from Umm Qasr to Basrah, came under light-weapons fire from elements of the Iranian army positioned along the riverine boundary between Iraq and Iran. في الساعة 1100 تعرضت الجنيبة (البيعه) في طريق عودتها من أم قصر إلى البصرة وفي منطقة القصبة إلى إطلاق نار بالأسلحة الخفيفة من قبل عناصر الجيش الإيراني الموجود على طول الحدود النهرية بين العراق وإيران، حيث كان الإطلاق باتجاه أفراد الطاقم في مؤخرة الجنيبة واستمر إطلاق النار على برج القيادة من بعد عبور المنطقة لمسافة بعيدة.
