UNESCO is also responsible for the development and monitoring of international normative instruments on human rights education, namely the 1974 Recommendation concerning Education for International Understanding, Cooperation and Peace and Education relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, and the 1995 Declaration and Integrated Framework of Action on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Democracy.
