With regard to General Assembly resolution 53/208 A, in which the Assembly decided that United Nations bodies should be invited to avoid holding meetings on Orthodox Good Friday, only one body, the Commission on Human Rights, had found it necessary to schedule a meeting on Orthodox Good Friday during the biennium in order to be able to complete the work of its session.
وبالنسبة لقرار الجمعية العامة 53/208 ألف، الذي قررت فيه أنه ينبغي دعوة هيئات الأمم المتحدة إلى تجنب عقد اجتماعات يوم الجمعة الحزينة للكنيسة الأرثوذكسية، اضطرت هيئة واحدة، هي لجنة حقوق الإنسان، إلى عقد اجتماع في ذلك اليوم خلال فترة السنتين، حتى تتمكن من إتمام أعمال دورتها.

5. In its resolution 53/208 A, the General Assembly decided that United Nations bodies should be invited to avoid holding meetings on Orthodox Good Friday and that that arrangement should be taken into account when drafting future calendars of conferences and meetings.
5 - وقررت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 53/208 ألف أن تُدعى هيئات الأمم المتحدة إلى تجنب عقد اجتماعات يوم الجمعة العظيمة لاتباع الكنيسة الأرثوذكسية ومراعاة هذا الترتيب عند صياغة جداول المؤتمرات والاجتماعات في المستقبل.

79. Mr. Sulaiman (Syrian Arab Republic) said that his delegation endorsed paragraph 11 of the report of the Committee on Conferences (A/53/32), which recommended that United Nations bodies should be invited to avoid holding meetings on 9 April 1999, the date of the Orthodox Church Easter, which was celebrated in his country.
٧٩ - السيد سليمان )الجمهورية العربية السورية(: قال إن وفده يؤيد الفقرة ١١ من تقرير لجنة المؤتمرات )A/53/32( التي أوصت بأن تدعى هيئات اﻷمم المتحدة إلى تجنب عقد الاجتماعات يوم ٩ نيسان/أبريل ١٩٩٩، يوم عيد الفصح للديانة اﻷورثوذوكسية، الذي يُحتفل به في بلده.

f Pursuant to paragraph 4 of General Assembly resolution 53/208 A, and as decided by the Assembly previously, United Nations intergovernmental bodies are requested to avoid holding meetings on Orthodox Good Friday, which falls on 22 April 2011.
(و) عملاً بالفقرة 4 من قرار الجمعية العامة 53/208 ألف، وعلى نحو ما قررته الجمعية في وقت سابق، يُطلب من الهيئات الحكومية الدولية التابعة للأمم المتحدة تجنب عقد اجتماعات يوم الجمعة العظيمة لأتباع الكنيسة الأرثوذكسية، الذي يوافق 22 نيسان/أبريل 2011.
