Another issue to which I would like to draw the Assembly's attention relates to the problem of the so-called frozen conflicts, which were left as unhealed scars in the newly independent States that emerged after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
وأود أن أوجه انتباه الجمعية العامة إلى مسألة أخرى، تتعلق بمشكلة ما يُسمى الصراعات المجمدة التي ما زالت ندوبا غير ملتئمة تعاني منها الدول الحديثة العهد بالاستقلال في أعقاب انهيار الاتحاد السوفياتي.

Despite some progress, serious differences remained with regard to the way that developed countries perceived the problems and vulnerabilities of small States.
وبرغم إحراز بعض التقدم، لا تزال هناك خلافات خطيرة فيما يتعلق بالطريقة التي تدرك بها البلدان متقدمة النمو المشاكل وأوجه الوهن التي تعاني منها الدول الصغيرة.

In some regions determined efforts are being made to pay more attention to the specific problems of small island developing States, to the management of associated river basins and to the potential effects of climate change.

Moreover, the practice of holding long sessions, requesting an increasing number of documents and establishing numerous working groups had served only to highlight the economic difficulties of Member States.
واعتبرت علاوة على ذلك أن عقد جلسات طويلة، وطلب عدد متزايد من الوثائق وتشكيل أفرقة عاملة عديدة أمور لا تسفر إلا عن استفحال الصعوبات الاقتصادية التي تعاني منها الدول اﻷعضاء.

The financial problems suffered by third States as a result of the application of sanctions also required an urgent response.
١٣ - وقالت إن المشاكل المالية التي تعاني منها الدول الثالثة من جراء تطبيق الجزاءات تحتاج أيضا الى استجابة عاجلة.

Over the past few years, Bulgaria had repeatedly stressed the need to resolve the serious economic problems of third States affected by the implementation of sanctions.
ولقد أكدت بلغاريا في السنوات اﻷخيرة مرارا وتكرارا ضرورة تسوية المشاكل الاقتصادية الخطيرة التي تعاني منها الدول الثالثة المتضررة من تنفيذ الجزاءات.

In adopting resolutions 50/51, 51/208 and 51/242, the General Assembly had made notable strides towards solving the problems experienced by adversely affected States.
فالجمعية العامة باتخاذها للقرارات ٥٠/٥١ و ٥١/٢٠٨ و ٥١/٢٤٢ خطت خطوات ملموسة في اتجاه حل المشاكل التي تعاني منها الدول المتضررة.

The problems of poverty, backwardness and lack of access to education and medical care are among the problems that affect developing countries.
إن مشاكل الفقــر والتخلف والحرمان من التعليم والتطبيب هي من المشاكل التي تعاني منها الدول النامية.
