وسأحضر، بصفتي الرئيس المقبل لمجموعة الـ 20 ولمجموعة الثمانية، قمة الاتحاد الأفريقي المقرر أن تعقد في أديس أبابا في أواخر كانون الثاني/يناير.

5. 5- ولاحظ الفريق العامل الجامع أنه ستنظم في إطار برنامج الأمم المتحدة للتطبيقات الفضائية حلقتا عمل حول استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء في تدبّر الكوارث، بغية زيادة وعي مقرري السياسات بفائدة تكنولوجيا الفضاء في تعزيز التنمية المستدامة: إحداهما تعقد في أديس أبابا في حزيران/يونيه 2002؛ والأخرى تعقد في بانكوك في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2002.
