Article 6, paragraph 2, of the Covenant permits courts in countries which have not abolished the death penalty to impose the death sentence on an individual if that individual has been found guilty of a most serious crime, and to carry out the death sentence by execution.
وتبيح الفقرة ٢ من المادة ٦ من العهد للمحاكم في البلدان التي لم تلغ عقوبة الاعدام أن تفرض حكم الاعدام على الفرد إذا ثبت أنه مذنب بارتكاب أخطر الجرائم، وأن تنفذ الحكم عن طريق الاعدام.

Article 6 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights states that in countries that have not abolished the death penalty, the sentence of death may be imposed only for the most serious crimes in accordance with the law in force at the time of the commission of the crime.
وتنص المادة 6 من العهد الدولي الخاص بالحقوق المدنية والسياسية على أنه في البلدان التي لم تلغ عقوبة الإعدام، يمكن إنزال هذه العقوبة فقط في أشد الجرائم خطورة وفقا للقانون الساري في زمن ارتكاب الجريمة.

Article 6, paragraph 2, of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights addressed the situation of countries which had not abolished the death penalty, and permitted a sentence of death under very specific conditions.

3. In countries which have not yet abolished the death penalty, sentences of death shall be carried out only for the most serious crimes.
٣- في البلدان التي لم تلغ عقوبة اﻹعدام بعد، تنفيذ أحكام اﻹعدام في حالة أشد الجرائم خطورة فحسب.

A. Use only for the most serious crimes 32. In countries that have not abolished the death penalty, capital punishment may be imposed only for the most serious crimes, it being understood that their scope should not go beyond intentional crimes with lethal or other extremely grave consequences.
32 - في البلدان التي لم تلغ عقوبة الإعدام، لا يجوز أن تفرض عقوبة الإعدام إلا على أشد الجرائم خطورة، على أن يكون مفهوما أن نطاقها ينبغي ألا يتعدى الجرائم المتعمدة التي تسفر عن عواقب مميتة أو غير ذلك من العواقب البالغة الخطورة.

One error, in that it is applying to a country which has abolished the death penalty, Canada, a text exclusively reserved by the Covenant - and that in an express and unambiguous way - for non-abolitionist States.
