وفي 19 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2011، ألقى رجال الأمن القبض على المصور فرزات جربان أثناء قيامه بتصوير تظاهرة مناوئة للحكومة في القصير (محافظة حمص) ووُجد في اليوم التالي مقتولاً وقد اقتُلعت عيناه.
