وصرح اﻷب جورج أبو خازن بأن المسيحيين لم يتمكنوا من الوصول إلى موقع عماد السيد المسيح على مدى سنوات منذ أن أعلنت المنطقة منطقة عسكرية مغلقة.

Following interrogation and the torture to which they were allegedly subjected at the Ministry of Defence they finally signed confessions which they were not shown and in which they admitted having booby—trapped the car belonging to Haykl Khazen in order to intimidate his brother Rachid Khazen, candidate in the legislative elections.
وأفيد أن الشخصين المذكورين قد تعرضا للتعذيب أثناء استجوابهما في وزارة الدفاع، أرغما إثر ذلك على التوقيع على اعترافات لم يتم اطلاعهما عليها، أقرا فيها بتفخيخ سيارة المدعو هيكل خازن بهدف ترهيب أخيه رشيد خازن، وأحد المرشحين في الانتخابات التشريعية.

They were tried on 24 April 1993 by the Beirut Military Court and sentenced to seven years' imprisonment for transporting weapons and booby—trapping Haykl Khazen's car.
وجرت محاكمتهما في ٤٢ نيسان/أبريل ٣٩٩١ بالمحكمة العسكرية في بيروت، وحكم عليهما بالسجن مدة سبع سنوات، لقيامهما بنقل أسلحة وتفخيخ سيارة هيكل خازن.
