Mr. RAO (Chairman of the International Law Commission) paid tribute to the memory of two illustrious jurists who had died recently, Mr. Roberto Ago and Mrs. Suzanne Bastid.

During the week ending 24 June 1995, the Security Council, at its 3546th meeting, held on 21 June 1995, proceeded to the election of a member of the International Court of Justice, pursuant to its resolution 979 (1995) of 9 March 1995, to fill the vacancy that had occurred as a result of the death of Judge Roberto Ago on 24 February 1995.
