11. 1993 Agreement to Promote Compliance with International Conservation and Management Measures by Fishing Vessels on the High Seas.

These commitments include the 1995 United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement, the 1993 Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Agreement to Promote Compliance with International Conservation and Management Measures by Fishing Vessels on the High Seas, and the 1995 Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries.

It has resulted in the abandonment of many crew members of fishing vessels in ports worldwide without any recourse to compensation for lost earnings and assistance with repatriation, except from charitable organizations.
