Norway has been actively encouraging the peace process in Guatemala over the past couple of years. There is every reason to congratulate the United Nations on the leadership it has shown in the negotiations between the Government of Guatemala and the URNG.

Together with the other members of the Group of Friends and with active support from the other Nordic countries, Norway has been actively encouraging the peace process in Guatemala in the last few years.
