The Head of State of the Republic of Gabon, His Excellency El Hadj Omar Bongo, who played a very active role at the Rio meeting, would have liked to have been present with us today. However, as you are aware, he remains in Libreville in order to follow very closely the efforts being made to mediate the crises which affect the fraternal peoples of Congo and central Africa.
