On 13 November, after informal consultations of the whole, the Council adopted a presidential statement (S/PRST/1997/51) on the decision of the Government of Iraq to expel personnel of the Special Commission of a specified nationality and demanded the immediate and unequivocal revocation of this action.
وفي ١٣ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر وبعد مشاورات غير رسمية جامعة اعتمد المجلس بيانا رئاسيا (S/PRST/1997/51) بشأن قرار حكومة العراق طرد موظفين باللجنة الخاصة، من جنسية معينة، وطالبها بإلغاء هذا اﻹجراء فورا وتماما.

24. The decision of the Government of Iraq to return, pursuant to Security Council resolution 686 (1991), quantities of gold, Kuwaiti paper currency and civilian aircraft seized after 2 August 1990 was announced in identical letters dated 5 March 1991 (S/22330) from the Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq to the President of the Security Council and to my predecessor.

At the informal consultations of the whole held on 13 November 1997, the members of the Council received a briefing by the Executive Chairman of the Special Commission regarding the decision of the Government of Iraq to expel Special Commission personnel of United States citizenship and subsequent measures taken by the Special Commission and IAEA regarding the presence of their staff in Iraq.
