We believe that the 13 meetings of the informal open-ended working group on the revitalization of the work of the General Assembly produced a resolution that will enhance the capacity of the General Assembly to exercise the functions and powers assigned to it under the Charter, so that it can play a more effective role within the Organization.

240. An informal open-ended working group on maritime cooperation against illicit drug trafficking by sea was convened by UNDCP from 5 to 8 December 2000.
