In his proposal, the Secretary-General recalled that ACC had attached importance to ensuring that the improvement of the status of women be placed within the mainstream of the work of the system in all its aspects. ACC had also recognized that the gender perspective should be fully integrated in the work of the three new ACC task forces established to promote a coordinated follow-up to recent global conferences.
