29. Cuba is in favour of improving as much as possible the methods of work of all United Nations bodies, including the First Committee, provided that that process is not to the detriment of the right of all Member States to promote and defend their legitimate interests and that it does not have a negative impact on the key role played by the General Assembly within the United Nations but, rather, strengthens that role.

Mr. Gala López (Cuba) (spoke in Spanish): Cuba has always been in favour of improving the working methods of all United Nations bodies, with the proviso that the exercise must not infringe on the right of Member States to promote and uphold their legitimate interests.

The principles of good faith imply an effort to build dialogue in which both States and indigenous peoples are to work towards consensus and try in earnest to arrive at a mutually satisfactory agreement. All parties should be willing to listen and compromise on their positions and defend their legitimate interests and arrive at agreements that are binding on all.
وتنطوي مبادئ النيّة الحسنة على بذل جهد لبناء حوار تعمل فيه كل من الدول والشعوب الأصلية على بلوغ توافق بين الآراء مع بذل محاولة مخلصة للتوصُّل إلى اتفاق يرضي جميع الأطراف التي ينبغي أن تكون على استعداد للإصغاء والتراضي فيما يتصل بمواقفها مع الدفاع عن مصالحها المشروعة ومن ثم الوصول إلى اتفاقات مُلزِمة للجميع.

All the Movement's conferences have addressed it with the utmost gravity, because the Movement is fully aware that, despite international developments and the vast increase in the number of States Members of the United Nations, those States do not enjoy genuine representation commensurate with their number, international influence and desire to express their legitimate interests.
لقد عالجــت حركة عدم الانحياز هذه المسألة بكــل عناية واهتمام، وتعاملت جميع مؤتمراتها مع هذا الموضوع بجدية كبيرة، إدراكا منها بأنه، رغم التطورات الدولية وزيادة عـــدد الدول اﻷعضاء في اﻷمم المتحدة بنسبة عالية، فإن تلــك الــدول لم تجــد تمثيلا حقيقيا لها في المجلس بما يتناسب مع عــددها ووزنهــا الدولي، وإمكانية التعبير عن مصالحها المشروعة.

37. Mr. Núñez Mosquera (Cuba) said that the international economic and political order continued to be profoundly unfair and unsustainable and that the South suffered from the distortions in a global economic order that excluded their legitimate interests.
37 - السيد نونييز موسكويرا (كوبا): قال إن النظام الاقتصادي والسياسي الدولي ما زال يتسم بانعدام العدل وبعدم الاستدامة. وذكر أن بلدان الجنوب تعاني من التشوهات التي تحدث في النظام الاقتصادي العالمي والتي تستبعد مصالحها المشروعة.

At the same time, the legitimate interests of States require acknowledgement of their freedom to confer their nationality on or withdraw it from an individual insofar as those measures are consistent with the relevant principles laid down in international law in this area.
وفيما يتعلق بالدول، تقتضي مصالحها المشروعة الاعتراف بحريتها في منح جنسيتها لأي فرد أو سحبها منه شريطة أن تتماشى هذه التدابير مع المبادئ ذات الصلة التي أرساها القانون الدولي في هذا المجال.
