It is worthy of mention that Egypt has significantly enhanced its cooperation with the Human Rights Council's special procedures system in recent times, as evidenced by the visits of the Special Rapporteur on human rights and counter-terrorism in April 2009, the Independent Expert on safe drinking water and sanitation in June 2009 and the Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons in April 2010.

It was stressed that, while violence against children was an obvious subject of concern for some thematic mandates, such as the Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography and the Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons, especially women and children, all mandate-holders had a role to play in addressing its different manifestations, causes and consequences.
