٣١ - وفي معرض الختام، قال إنه يجب تجديد ولاية اللجنة التحضيرية لتمكينها من إتمام أعمالها بشأن المسائل الموضوعية المتبقية.

The view was also expressed that the process of negotiation should be democratic and transparent, that the question of the scheduling of the conference was a political one and did not fall within the mandate of the Preparatory Committee and that it should be considered in a political body such as the Sixth Committee.
٣٦٤ - كما تم اﻹعراب عن رأي مفاده أن عملية المفاوضات ينبغي أن تكون ديمقراطية وأن تتسم بالشفافية وأن مسألة تعيين موعد المؤتمر هي مسألة سياسية ولا تدخل ضمن ولاية اللجنة التحضيرية وأنه ينبغي أن ينظر فيها في هيئة سياسية مثل اللجنة السادسة.

288. With regard to the establishment of an international criminal court, the General Assembly, at its fifty-first session, on the recommendation of the Sixth Committee, took note of the report of the Preparatory Committee on the Establishment of an International Criminal Court, including the recommendations contained therein, and decided to reaffirm the mandate of the Preparatory Committee.
٢٨٨ - وفيما يتعلق بإنشاء محكمة جنائية دولية، أحاطت الجمعية العامة علما، بناء على توصية اللجنة السادسة، بتقرير اللجنة التحضيرية ﻹنشاء محكمة جنائية دولية وبالتوصيات الواردة فيه وقررت إعادة تأكيد ولاية اللجنة التحضيرية.

The Assembly reaffirmed the mandate of the Preparatory Committee at its fifty-first session and decided that a diplomatic conference of plenipotentiaries should be held in 1998, with a view to finalizing and adopting a convention (resolution 51/207).

The Sixth Committee should therefore recommend to the General Assembly that it should reaffirm the Preparatory Committee's mandate and convene a diplomatic conference in June 1998.
ولذا ينبغي أن توصي اللجنة السادسة الجمعية العامة بإعادة توكيد ولاية اللجنة التحضيرية وبعقد مؤتمر دبلوماسي في حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٨.
