13. 20. The President said that, in accordance with rule 6 of the rules of procedure, the Conference was required to elect from among the States Parties participating in the Conference 10 Vice-Presidents, as well as the Chairperson and a Vice-Chairperson for each of the Main Committees, the Drafting Committee and the Credentials Committee.

Amended rule 3 will read as follows: `The Conference shall elect from among the States Parties participating in the Conference a president and three vice-presidents. These officers shall be elected so as to ensure the representative character of the General Committee provided for in rule 7.'
وستكون المادة 3 بصيغتها المعدَّلة على النحو التالي: " ينتخب المؤتمر من بين الدول الأطراف المشاركة في المؤتمر رئيساً وثلاثة نواب للرئيس، وهو يختارهم بطريقة تضمن الطابع التمثيلي لمكتب المؤتمر المؤلف طبقاً للمادة 7 " .

"
2- الرئيس المؤقت: ذكّر بأن الدول الأطراف قامت في 11 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2002، خلال مؤتمرها السنوي الرابع، بتعديل المادة 3 من النظام الداخلي (CCW/AP.II/CONF.6/2)، التي تنص على ما يلي: " ينتخب المؤتمر من بين الدول الأطراف المشتركة في المؤتمر رئيساً و3 نواب للرئيس " .
