وإذ تدرك أن التجارب النووية التي أجرتها الدولة القائمة بالإدارة في الإقليم على امتداد 30 عاما ترتبت عليها آثار لا يستهان بها في الصحة والبيئة، وإذ تدرك كذلك ما يساور الإقليم من قلق إزاء تبعات تلك الأنشطة على حياة السكان، ولا سيما الأطفال والفئات الضعيفة، وصحتهم وعلى البيئة في المنطقة،

Recognizing the request conveyed in the letter of 27 October 2005 from the Prime Minister of Iraq to the President of the Council, which is annexed to this resolution, to retain the presence of the multinational force in Iraq, and further recognizing the importance of consent of the sovereign Government of Iraq for the presence of the multinational force and of close coordination between the multinational force and that government,
وإذ يقر بتلقي الطلب الوارد في الرسالة المؤرخة 27 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2005 الموجهة إلى رئيس المجلس من رئيس وزراء العراق، والمرفقة بهذا القرار، بالإبقاء على وجود القوة المتعددة الجنسيات في العراق، وإذ يقر أيضا بأهمية موافقة حكومة العراق ذات السيادة على وجود القوة المتعددة الجنسيات وأهمية التنسيق الوثيق بين القوة المتعددة الجنسيات وتلك الحكومة،
