Traditional factors continue to fuel conflict, including asabiyyah, the sense of belonging to the tribe, which promotes the spirit of vengeance; the dysfunction of the local administration; the desire to appropriate scarce natural resources (water, gold, etc.); and the struggle for political leadership on land shared among various tribes.
ولا تزال العوامل التقليدية تغذّي هذا النزاع وأبرزها العصبية، وهي الاحساس بالانتماء إلى القبيلة، التي تغذّي روح الانتقام؛ والخلل في عمل الإدارة المحلية؛ والرغبة في الاستحواذ على الموارد الطبيعية الشحيحة (الماء والذهب وما إلى ذلك)؛ والصراع على القيادة السياسية على الأرض التي تتشاركها القبائل المختلفة.
