ويود وفد بلادي أن يؤكد أن خيار السلام لا يزال الخيار الوحيد أمامنا وأن البديل هو لا سمح الله زج المنطقة من جديد في أتون الصراع والعنف الذي يتوجب علينا جميعا أن نتحمل كامل المسؤولية للحيلولة دون وقوعه.

لقد أصبح واضحا للجميع أن بعض الأطراف داخل مجلس الأمن تواصل زج المجلس في تطورات داخلية سورية تحت حجج وذرائع واهية لا علاقة لها بدور المجلس ومسؤولياته في حفظ السلم والأمن الدوليين وفقا للميثاق، وإنما تهدف، فقط، إلى تحويل المجلس إلى أداة لتنفيذ مخططاتها التدخلية البعيدة عن روح منظمة الأمم المتحدة ومبادئها وأهدافها.
