Upon instruction from my Government, I have the honour to attach herewith identical letters dated 4 October 2012, addressed to the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council regarding the series of terrorist attacks that hit the city of Aleppo yesterday, 3 October 2012, which resulted in the death and injury of scores of innocent civilians and caused enormous destruction in the public and private properties (see annex).
بناء على تعليمات من حكومتي، يشرفني أن أرفق طيه رسالتين متطابقتين مؤرختين 4 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2012، موجهتين إلى الأمين العام ورئيس مجلس الأمن في ما يتعلق بسلسلة الهجمات الإرهابية التي ضربت مدينة حلب يوم أمس، 3 تشرين الأول/ أكتوبر 2012، وأسفرت عن مقتل وإصابة العشرات من المدنيين الأبرياء وأحدثت دمارا هائلا في الممتلكات العامة والخاصة (انظر المرفق).

According to the communication submitted by the source, a summary of which was forwarded to the Government, Mr. Mazen Kana (son of Subhi Said Kana, a Jordanian national), born in Damascus in December 1954, a civil engineer (graduate of Aleppo University) and a businessman, was reportedly arrested on 20 August 1980, from his home in Damascus by a group of security officers.

18. On the status of prisoners and detainees from the Aleppo Central Prison, OHCHR received new information that most detainees were transferred to AlWahda school in Aleppo and to the Adra Central Prison in Rif Dimashq.
18 - وفيما يتعلق بوضع السجناء والمحتجزين في سجن حلب المركزي، وردت إلى مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان معلومات جديدة تفيد بأنه قد تم نقل معظم المحتجزين إلى مدرسة الوحدة في حلب وسجن عدرا المركزي في ريف دمشق.

The Government also reported the release of 363 prisoners from the Aleppo Central Prison on 28 July, and that bodies still buried inside the Aleppo Central Prison grounds would be returned to the families when the area is secure.
