In this connection, the Committee recommends that the State party consider seeking international assistance in this area from the United Nations High Commissioner/Centre for Human Rights and the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Division of the United Nations Secretariat.

2. Invites the Committee established by resolution 724 (1991) to adopt appropriate streamlined procedures for expediting its consideration of applications concerning legitimate humanitarian assistance, in particular applications from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Committee of the Red Cross;
٢ - يدعو اللجنة المنشأة بموجب القرار ٧٢٤ )١٩٩١( إلى اعتماد إجراءات مبسطة ومناسبة لتعجيل نظرها في الطلبات المتصلة بالمساعدة اﻹنسانية المشروعة، وبخاصة الطلبات المقدمة من مفوض اﻷمم المتحدة السامي لشؤون اللاجئين ولجنة الصليب اﻷحمر الدولية؛

“The Council, in the light of the letters from the Secretary-General to the President of the Council (S/1996/875 and S/1996/878) and the information received from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights regarding the situation in eastern Zaire, is particularly concerned at the humanitarian situation and the resulting large-scale movements of refugees and displaced persons.
