In accordance with paragraphs 2 and 3 of the annex to resolution 33/138, the 21 Vice-Presidents of the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session shall be elected according to the following pattern:

1. The Special Rapporteur submitted his interim report on the situation of human rights in Haiti to the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session in New York (A/49/513, 14 October 1994).

9. In this chapter, the Special Rapporteur reports the comments which he received from Governments and non-governmental organizations following the submission of his report to the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session (A/49/677, annex) and the exchange of correspondence which ensued.

The Advisory Committee points out that it has faced similar delays in the receipt of documentation in the past; as recently as 1994, it commented on this issue in its report to the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session (A/49/547).

16. The Consulting Actuary submitted to the Board the report on the twenty-third actuarial valuation of the Fund as at 31 December 1995; the previous valuation had been as at 31 December 1993 and its results had been reported to the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session in 1994. 2/ The Board also had before it the observations of the Committee of Actuaries, which had examined the valuation report prior to its submission to the Board.
