62. The HR Committee was concerned that State subsidies for schools teaching in the Korean language were lower than those for ordinary schools, and that diplomas from Korean schools did not automatically qualify students to enter university, urging the Government to address the situation.
62- وأعربت اللجنة المعنية بحقوق الإنسان عن قلقها لأن الإعانات المقدمة إلى المدارس التي تعلم الأطفال باللغة الكورية أدنى من تلك المقدمة إلى المدارس العادية، ولأن شهادات المدارس الكورية لا تؤهل الطلاب تلقائياً لدخول الجامعة، وحثت الحكومة على معالجة هذا الوضع(122).

(a) In Japan, regulations were amended in September 1999 to enable graduates from foreign schools, including Korean schools in Japan, to acquire the qualification for entering a college or university by taking the University Entrance Qualification Examination.
(أ) عدلت الأنظمة في اليابان في أيلول/سبتمبر 1999 لتمكين خريجي المدارس الأجنبية، بما في ذلك المدارس الكورية الموجودة في اليابان، من اكتساب أهلية الالتحاق بمدرسة للتعليم العالي أو جامعة بعد اجتياز امتحان التأهيل لدخول الجامعة.

The State party should ensure the adequate funding of Korean language schools by increasing State subsidies and applying the same fiscal benefits to donors of Korean schools as to donors of other private schools, and recognize diplomas from Korean schools as direct university entrance qualifications.
