Marik also states that he persuaded a lackey named Ahmed Chalabi and the members of the so-called Iraqi National Congress to work for the CIA and recruited various groups of agents and mercenaries to organize an armed attack against the institutions of the Iraqi State. He organized an attempted coup d'état against the regime.
كما يشير ماريك إلى قيامه بتجنيد العميل المدعو أحمد الجلبي وعناصر ما يسمى بالمؤتمر الوطني العراقي للعمل لصالح المخابرات المركزية اﻷمريكية وتجنيد مجموعات مختلفة من العملاء والمرتزقة بهدف تنظيم هجوم مسلح على مؤسسات الدولة العراقية فضلا عن تنظيم عملية انقلاب ضد السلطة الوطنية.

Having acknowledged that vast sums of money amounting to at least $100 million were swallowed up by these efforts, Warren Marik similarly acknowledged the role played by the United States Senate Intelligence Committee with a view to mounting a covert action against the legitimate authority in Iraq and devising a hostile programme to topple Iraq's national regime.

In case No. 945/2000 (Marik v. The Czech Republic), the Committee had to decide whether the application to the author of Act 87/1991 amounted to a violation of his right to equality before the law and to equal protection of the law, contrary to article 26 of the Covenant.
