In the same resolution, the Assembly recognized the need for broader measures of progress to complement gross domestic product in order to better inform policy decisions, and recalled in this regard the request made to the Statistical Commission, in paragraph 38 of the outcome document of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.
