The additional requirements under this heading represent the difference between the gross and net emoluments; that is, the amount of staff assessment to which United Nations staff members are subject in accordance with the United Nations Staff Regulations.

The United Nations Staff Regulations indicate, in reference to conflict of interest, that staff members must refrain from being associated with or holding a financial interest in a profit enterprise if it is possible for the staff member or the enterprise to gain a financial interest because of the staff member's position in the United Nations.
